With just seven members, The Duchy Working Gundog Club was started  as a training club for the betterment of  working dogs. Now nine years on, the club has Field Trial Status and a growing membership  We are a friendly club and at our training sessions we have experienced handlers that are only too happy to help in any way possible.

Merseyside Based Gundog Training

All working breeds considered, meeting twice a week, evenings and weekends. Tuesday 6pm till 8pm Sundays 1pm till 4pm as of 1st April 2007.  The Bracco Italiano, sometimes known as the Italian Pointer, is a very ancient breed in Italy; in fact it may be one of the earliest gundog types featuring in frescos of the 14th century.

The breed has become quite popular across Europe but although introduced to this country in the 1980's we find ourselves at the beginning of the 21st century still with less than 200 dogs in the UK.

The Bracco Italiano was originally used in Italy for hunting birds and is now a respected part of the HPR or general purpose gundog group.

As a companion the Bracco is an even tempered and loyal family dog. He benefits from regular mental stimulation which can be traditional 'gundog' work, obedience, agility or any other task that you like to set him.

 The Brittany Club of Great Britain was founded in 1984 by the late Mr Stanley Smith, who had brought the first four specimens of the breed into the U.K. two years earlier. These have since been added to by around a further fifteen to twenty dogs and bitches, with some of the bitches being brought into quarantine in whelp to top stud dogs in France. The aim of the club is to encourage breeding the true type of Brittany, ensure adequate classification at shows, and promote Field Trials. The Officers and Committee are always willing and available to help and advise members with any aspect of training or rearing Brittanys, or to discuss the breed in general.

Show is usually the largest gathering of Gordons in the UK.  There is only one standard followed for Gordon Setters with no variety in colour; the main colours being black & tan.

Membership: UK - £10 Single, £15 Joint. Overseas - £15 single; £20 Joint 

  For this you receive details of events, the magazine 'The Gordoner' and an annual full colour yearbook of some 160 pages.  The club also runs seminars and matches with other breeds and regularly mans stands at Crufts, Discover Dogs and other shows around the UK.

The Club holds two open shows each year (February and November), alternating with a championship show in February on a two year rota.

The Welsh Springer Spaniel Club

The Welsh Springer Spaniel Club is an Association of owners and enthusiasts of the Welsh Springer Spaniel. The Club was formed in 1923, and has promoted the interests and development of the Welsh Springer Spaniel continuously since that time.

By definition of its Rules, the Club exists to promote "the best breeding for exhibition and working of Welsh Springer Spaniels according to the Breed Standard defined, published, and endorsed by the Club, and approved by the Kennel Club, and to further the training and working of the breed". In order to provide additional guidance to its members, the Club has developed a Breeders' Code of Practice.
