The IPS believes in the value of exhibiting parrotlets and has formulated Standards for  judging that have been adopted by the Society of Parrot Breeders of Exhibitors and the North American Parrot Society. In addition, the IPS offers awards at both the Great American and National Cage Bird Shows for the Best Parrotlet and Best Novice Parrotlet in Show.
ipslogo.gif (2889 bytes)International Parrotlet Society
The International Parrotlet Society (IPS) was founded in August of 1992 to promote the care, breeding, conservation, exhibition and keeping of parrotlets. Being a member of the International Parrotlet Society can help educate people on these unique parrots. The IPS produces a fantastic bimonthly magazine in which, classified advertising is free to members. Also, each member receives a complimentary Breeders Directory listing. The IPS also has a free traceable band registration system that allows people to get in contact with the breeders of their birds.

The IPS believes strongly in conservation and is involved in various activities including sponsoring breeding cooperatives for the very rare Mexican and Yellow Face parrotlets. We are also involved in the American Zoo Association/Private Aviculturists project and are affiliated with the American Association of Aviculture, Bird Clubs of American, Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors and the International Aviculturists Society.

The IPS meets twice a year at the National Cage Bird Show and the American Federation of Aviculture convention. Currently, the International Parrotlet Society has over 700 members in 13 different countries and is one of the biggest and most respected specialty organizations in the world.
